Not medical advice
They apply published figures to the numbers you enter. They don’t know your history or other medicines.
Not a diagnosis, and not a decision
The BMI thresholds are the ones our doctors use. Whether we can treat you is decided at your consultation.
Not a reason to change anything yourself
If a tool suggests something different from your plan, talk to your doctor before changing anything.
Averages, not predictions
The figures are averages from published studies. Your response may differ. The evidence.

Where do the numbers come from?
The BMI thresholds come from the licensed criteria and from NICE guidance on adjusting them for family background. The timing figures come from the manufacturer’s own pharmacokinetic data as assessed by the regulator. Both are cited in full on the evidence page, and each tool shows its own workings.
Are they only for your patients?
No. Anyone can use them. The timing tools assume you are already prescribed a weekly injection by someone — they are not a way of deciding whether to start one.
Will a tool tell me whether I can be treated?
No. The BMI tool tells you which of our thresholds applies to your figures, which is one part of a much longer conversation. Eligibility is decided by a doctor after reading your history and speaking to you.
